EDUCATOR STRATEGIES

Overview

As online learning environments rapidly become part of the education landscape for K12, educators in formal and informal settings are inundated with opportunities, decisions, suggestions, and requirements about technology use in their unique learning environments.

This suite of educator materials are anchored around a cyclical set of practices that articulate specific ways to reflect, plan, and act around the use of online platforms in learning environments. Materials to support these practices include:

Identifying frameworks that list potential roles you can play online to support youth learning, common platform features that you can use to play those roles, and potential 21st century learning opportunities you can set up and look for in online platforms.

Authentic cases of educators, learners, and communities in formal and informal learning environments using online platforms, highlighting goals, successes, and challenges–mapped onto our frameworks. Cases include reflection questions to engage discussion and planning for educators and administrators to use individually or as part of formal professional development opportunities.
